Location of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology
The KIT-campus North (Forschungszentrum Karlsruhe) and the campus South (Universität Karlsruhe (TH) ) are about 10 kilometres apart. Whereas the University is in the centre of Karlsruhe, the research centre is located north to Karlsruhe in the former hunting grounds of margrave Karl Wilhelm (founder of Karlsruhe) close to Eggenstein-Leopoldshafen.

Transfer between the University and the Research Centre is accomplished by the KIT-shuttle (schedule as pdf). It departs every full hour from campus North and half past every full hour from campus South. The first bus starts at 7:30 a.m. from the University (South) and the last bus leaves the Research Centre (North) at 6:00 p.m.
Outside the operating hours of the KIT-shuttle, campus North can by reached by public transport.
